Main scientific interests:
(a) Study of Italian fertility, with particular attention to the relations with female labour force participation and with reference to the impact of the new flexible contractual types of works on family choices.
(b) Study of the processes of demographic convergence/divergence between industrialized and developing countries.
(c) Application of event history analysis in the study of demographic processes.
(d) Comparative studies in Europe of the relationships between having children and elderly health.
(e) Problems of population of developing countries, with a particular reference: to the relations between demographic behaviours and woman status; to the study of the relations between evolution of the population and sustainable development; to the analysis of environmental issues and conflicts connected to the demographic growth of developing countries.
(f) Sexual behavior of young people and parents relationships.
